Methodology in brief

Code status is verified against state statutes and regulations, cross-referenced with the Headwaters Economics wildfire building code dashboard. Program statuses are confirmed with administrators on a monthly cycle (biweekly in fire season). Insurance figures come from state insurance department data calls and FAIR Plan reports, always with dates, never from anecdotes. Fields we have not yet verified render nothing rather than a guess. Full detail, definitions, and the correction policy live on the methodology page; every data change is dated in the changelog.
